I Am Accepted
Sometimes you start to worry.
It can happen when you go somewhere new.
Or when people look at you.
Or when it’s your turn to talk.
The worry says:
“They are watching me.”
“They might start judging me.”
You might feel a little awkward.
You might try to be extra careful.
You might try not to do anything wrong.
You might wonder if you are okay.
Or if you are doing it right.
Inside, you may start to worry.
Like it’s hard to relax.
Like you are waiting for something bad to happen.
But here is something quiet and true.
Nothing about you is being checked.
No one is measuring you right now.
No one is keeping score.
You do not need to be careful to be okay.
You do not need to try hard to belong.
You do not need to explain yourself.
You are allowed to relax.
You are allowed to be quiet.
You are allowed to be as you are.
Right now, as you are reading this,
nothing is being decided about you.
You are not being judged.
You are safe to be as you are.
You are safe to be seen.
You are safe to relax.
And in this moment,
you are held,
you are at peace,
and you are deeply loved.
