I Am Enough

Sometimes people think a sad thought.

It can start when you are little.
At school.
At home.
Around other people.

The thought sounds like this:

“I am not enough.”

You might not say it out loud.
You might not even know where it came from.

You just start to feel it.

So you try harder.

You try to be good.
You try to help.
You try not to get things wrong.
You try not to upset anyone.

You want to do your best.

Other people might think you are doing well.
They might say you are kind.
Or clever.
Or strong.

But inside, the thought comes back.

“Still not enough.”
“Maybe later.”
“Maybe if I do more.”

This can make life feel hard.

Not because life is bad,
but because you feel worried inside.

You might feel like you cannot stop.
Or like you always need to try.
Or like being looked after feels strange.

So you keep going.

But here is something very important.

Nothing is wrong with you.

You were never missing anything.
You were never too much.
You were never a problem.

That sad thought —
“I am not enough” —
is not who you are.

It is just a thought that started
when love did not feel clear.

When that thought begins to go away,
something nice happens.

You feel calmer.
You feel safer.
You feel more peaceful inside.

You don’t need to prove anything.

You don’t need to try so hard to be okay.

You are allowed to be here,
just as you are.

And as you are reading these words right now,

you are loved more than you may have ever felt before.
