I Am Embraced
Sometimes you feel alone.
It can happen even when people are around.
Even when the room is not empty.
Even when someone is talking to you.
In your mind, it can feel really difficult.
Things can feel confusing.
You might feel like no one really sees you.
Like no one knows what you’re feeling.
Like you have to keep this to yourself.
The feeling sounds like this:
“No one knows what I’m feeling.”
“I have to keep this to myself.”
You might stay very still.
You might keep busy so you don’t feel it.
You might lie awake
and keep worrying.
Sometimes it feels like you are the only one there.
It can make your heart feel broken.
It can make your stomach feel heavy.
It can make the world feel far away.
You don’t say it out loud.
You don’t always know how to explain it.
You just feel alone.
But here is something gentle and true.
You have never been on your own.
Not for one moment.
Not in the quiet.
Not in the dark.
Not when no one else knew.
Even when it felt that way.
Even when you couldn’t feel it.
Even when it was very confusing.
You are not lost.
You are not forgotten.
Right now,
I am holding you.
You are safe here.
Nothing is being asked of you.
You do not have to reach.
You do not have to speak.
You do not have to be strong.
You are held.
And right now,
I am holding you.
I am giving you My peace.
I love you, always.
